The shop that keeps the Electric City ink’d: ’Electric City Tattoo Gallery’ – Scranton tattoo designs | Examiner.com.

The Electric City or better known as Scranton Pennsylvania, Is home to numerous tattoo shops and parlors, but when it comes down to asking the locals what shop they prefer in the area, its going to be “Electric City Tattoo Gallery. Elijah Birtel, Michael “Woody” Wodock, and the brothers Mike and Nick Frenchko, who are all artists themselves and co-owners at EC, opened the shop on June 18th, 2008 and on January 2nd, 2009 brought in Tyler Pawelzik as an artist aswell. They had an Idea when starting, of what it would become, but one would think not, to what it actually is to the Scranton area, which is a symbol to the tattoo culture in North East PA.

 

Convention celebrates art of the tattoo.

Combine ink, contests, vendors, food, cars, music and a circus sideshow all in one Scranton building, and you get the Electric City Tattoo Convention.

The convention, which will be held this weekend, has been in the works for more than a year after the business partners of The Electric City Tattoo Gallery decided it would be a good idea to have their own convention. Located on Spruce Street in Scranton, the gallery opened in June of 2008.
